Big Shock Racing achieved yet another impressive result with a 7th place finish in the truck category following the breathtaking and exhilarating final stages of the Dakar Rally 2022. The team has drawn particular attention with the two podium finishes they have achieved in the stage 9 and stage 12. The ambitious team’s performance was powered, once again, by Champion Lubricants as its official technical partner and lubricant supplier.

In our fourth year as the Official Technical Partner and Lubricant Supplier of Big Shock Racing, we worked even more closely with the team for the 2022 season, supporting the talented team to reach this impressive result.

Last year, the team had their best Dakar performance of all time, breaking new ground with an impressive 4th place overall and returning home as the leading privately-owned team. Pushing the limit of drivers and machine alike, the team had full confidence under the extreme conditions of Dakar, drawing attention from around the world with three stage wins!

With the success of the 2021 season, the team has taken another challenge and entered an additional IVECO racing truck into the 2022 Dakar. Across the thrilling stages of this season, the Big Shock Racing team pushed itself to the extreme. The team’s two IVECO trucks conquered rocky tracks and towering dunes powered by our robust and race-proven products in their engine, transmission, wheel hubs, steering and axles!

Big Shock Racing relies upon a specially tailored racing engine oil developed by our R&D team, SAE 10W-60, and racing transaxle oil SAE 75W-140. In 2021, the team also started using NEW ENERGY MULTI VEHICLE ATF in their new automatic transmission, which was put to the ultimate test in Dakar’s extreme racing conditions. Additionally, OEM SPECIFIC 75W90 GL 5 was proven to withstand the toughest rally raid conditions and everyday use across extended intervals in the Big Shock Racing trucks.
