Mercedes-Benz approval MB 229.52 for OEM SPECIFIC 5W30 C3

Introduced by Mercedes-Benz, the MB 229.52 specification, now officially approved, is given to engine oils that can endure extreme thermal constraints and those that are suitable for use with almost all modern aftertreatment systems.
The MB 229.52 specification sets new boundaries
This specification applies to all Mercedes vehicles that have a “BlueTEC” 6-cylinder diesel engine OM642 with Euro 6 exhaust gas norm, fitted with SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction). Through the use of the AdBlue, this allows NOx treatment.
This new specification also requires improved cold flow properties to reduce friction. This extra requirement allows intense oil flow at start up, faster oil pressure build up, the faster raising of revs and the faster reaching of the operating temperature.
